Unique Totoweka toki

Toki had to be strong to endure the cutting and scraping motions of its use.  Therefore toki have become a symbol of strength(particularity in time of adversity), courage and fortitude. Toki were also worn by elders as a symbol of power, wisdom and authority.

This is a particularly unique toki being carved in a rare dendritic Totoweka Pounamu from Te Tau Ihu. Totoweka is the blood of the Weka and this pounamu get its name from the red within the stone.    Dendrites are a mineral that seep into the stone and give it those beautiful feathering black flecks.  Take a look through the photos and see what we mean. Beautiful eh?

This toki even has a rough raw edge on one side so you can feel what the outside of the stone would feel like.

Beautiful, unique, rare, full of character, strength, wisdom and courage – know anyone who would be perfect for this Totoweka toki taonga?
