Tōriki Toki
Tōriki Toki – literally a small toki. This is a cute little piece of speckled Inanga pounamu that Tim carved in to a lovely small, rounded toki.
The toki has become a symbol of strength(particularity in time of adversity), courage and fortitude as it had to be strong to endure the cutting and scraping motions of its use. Toki were also worn by elders as a symbol of power, wisdom and authority.
This piece would be great for pēpē, and pounamu is a great soother for teething gums to chew on. Or perhaps your child loves to fidget or have something to hold on to in their quiet time? This is a perfect taonga for holding on to when you need a little external strength and support. It just has a really nice to feel in your hands.
