Toki Au in Kawakawa Pounamu
You can already see they beautiful swirls in this luscious pounamu green toki. If you want to see some real magic then get yourself a torch(phone torch is perfect) and lay your taonga right on top of it – you’ll see right inside the pounamu. It’s beautiful and something kinda magical, seeing inside a stone. How is it even possible? Get’s me every time!
Anyway, I’ll leave it to you to discover all that for yourself as photos do not do it any justice. And spoil the surprise.
The Toki itself has become a symbol of strength(particularity in time of adversity), courage and fortitude as it had to be strong to endure the cutting and scraping motions of its use. Toki were also worn by elders as a symbol of power, wisdom and authority.
