Ripi Pounamu
This taonga is not only a stunning pendant but also a tool – a ripi. Ripi are used for cutting and scraping. And that edge is sharp enough for the job. We cut through a harakeke blade with it.
Tim has also left one edge rounded so you have a face for softening harakeke. Or just holding it in your hands. Tim also left the kiri on one side of the taonga so you can see and feel the raw face of the pounamu. The whole taonga has an incredible feel to it – raw, grounding, strong.
