Rango Hōtiu – tactile pounamu necklace

The name of this pendant is literal – Rango Hōtiu, an oblique cylinder.  This beautiful little pendant with its golden swirls is made for the person who loves to fidget and play with their jewellery. It just feels amazing to hold in the hand.  And the gold flickers and moves in the light. Hours of entertainment.  The raw end is incredibly soothing as you run your finger down it. And quite handy for pushing back your cuticles!  So you can see, this piece is perfect for the tactile person.

Raukara pounamu is named as such after the Karaka tree with its deep green leaves and orange berries.  The Karaka can be found along most coastal regions of Te Ika a Māui.
