Natural Tangiwai Pounamu Pebble
This is a natural Tangiwai pounamu pebble of completeness. I don’t know if that makes sense. But the thing is, when you pick up these small taonga you know, they have to stay just as they are. They cannot be cut and shaped to suit our plans.
This one still bears all of its fractures and scars. Fractured, but not broken. These taonga were never wasted by our tupuna. Their wairua never discarded or treated with disrespect. A complete Tangiwai pebble, with all its beautiful flaws.
This one bears its own scars but it is beautiful because of them. You can actually look into its depths.
And that button like stringing that Tim has used. It’s just gorgeous.
