Kōpūnui lace agate taonga.
This is a lovely wee pendant made from a Lace agate pebble we found on our adventures in Canterbury. These beautiful agates are formed over thousands of years by the accumulation of silica-rich groundwater within the cavities of other rocks, in the volcanic bowels of the Southern Alps in the Canterbury region. Isn’t it incredible what Papatūānuku creates? They then find there way into the awa. We were lucky enough to find this one on its way to the moana. Furthermore, it looked so much like the planet Kōpūnui (Jupiter) that we decided to house it in it’s own little drop of silver.
Set on a intricate silver chain, it sits delicately at the nape of your neck. And when you hold it up to the sunlight it glows spectacularly, as you can see in the photos. This would make a lovely christmas gift for the star gazer in your life.
We source all our sterling silver chain from second hand stores so that we can lessen our impact on Papatūānuku.
