Garnet is a stunning stone and was used as a hammer stone by our tupuna, to shape the pounamu. It is an incredible hard and durable stone, hence why it was used to hammer shape from other stone. This transparent garnet is very hard to photograph because as you can see its almost as clear as glass! It is hard to capture its incredible beauty on a camera.
