Marama – Whānau Ariki studs
I wanted a wee pair of studs that were funky, celestial centred and would go with anything so I could leave them permanently in my second piercing. Our 11 year old pōtiki wanted crescent moon studs and our 16 year old wanted whetu for her ears. After an extensive search, we couldn’t find anything we wanted anywhere – hence our Whānau Ariki stud line was born!
Whānau Ariki are the family of paramount chiefs. Obviously the celestial bodies fit perfectly in this whānau, especialy when you consider that all Māori entities started life as whetu. These studs all look really gorgeous worn alongside pounamu in your taringa.
Except for that complicated butterfly bit, these are hand-made by us from recycled and ethically sourced sterling silver.
