Contemporary Kapeu e Rua
Kapeu were an ear adornment worn by Māori in times past. Kapeu have a gentle curve on their bottom tip. Pounamu earrings were highly prized object and markers of wealth and mana.
These earrings are Tim’s contemporary take on the kapeu. The pounamu already had a natural form resembling the kapeu so Tim just gently shaped the kohatu to a softer curve. And there you have it, natural form kapeu.
In such a deep dark forest green these kapeu are just gorgeous. Give them as a gift to let your loved one know that you think they are worth it. 😉
