Mā Pounamu – Mana Taonga
This taonga.What can I say. When this kohatu pounamu was dropped in for Tim to cut we were both excited. Then when Tim cut off this end piece, we just couldn’t believe it. Mā/White Pounamu like this and of this quality is so rare. And so beautiful. We wish everyone could see and hold this taonga in person. It has such a soothing feel to it.
The rind on the outside is equally beautiful and when you hold it up to the sunlight it just glows. Absolutely stunning.
Tim just gently shaped this taonga so you could enjoy it as kiri-pu-tapu (original form of being). We have been blessed with a very small amount of this pounamu and we wanted to share some of that with you. If you love this taonga don’t hesitate, we don’t know if we will ever see a piece like it again.
