Mā Pounamu – Kihikihi Wing Earrings
Have you ever seen pounamu like this? Mā(white) pounamu is incredibly rare and we have been very blessed to be gifted a small piece of this incredible pounamu. We decided it was too beautiful to keep it all to ourselves.
When he looked into this pounamu Tim could see veins, like those in the gorgeous kihikihi(cicada) wings. Have you ever seen them up close? Like glass with strong veins running through. And so he made these beautiful wings. They even have the little notch at the top where they hook on to the body.
There will only ever be a few pairs of earrings in this pounamu, so if you like these earrings please don’t hesitate. We’ve never seen pounamu like it before and we can’t be sure we ever will again.
I have one pair of earrings in this pounamu and I absolutely love them. They are modern and funky, whilst keeping that connection to the whenua. You will stand strong and proud with these whakakai in your taringa.
