 (noun) freshwater crayfish, found in native forest, exotic forest, and pastoral waterways, but very rarely in urban streams because of chemical pollution, increased flood flows from stormwater inputs, and degradation of habitat. Paranephrops planifrons and Paranephrops zealandicus.  Māori names: includes kōura and kēwai
